Goal & Objectives
Goal :
`To be the first choice for students and professionals in finding the source of knowledge pertaining to national and world class agro-industry when striving to be leaders in agro-industrial system engineering, technology, and management`
Objectives :
- The good governance of the study program could be achieved by focusing the improvement of the academic quality. The achievement could be reach through two strategies: (1) Strengthening the academic process (standardization of field works and the process of thesis preparation, the preparation of accessible and readily used academic databases and learning process control); (2) formally and informally intensive personal relationship (Friday lunch, music refreshment, monthly incentive for the support staffs, and annual agro-industrial company visit).
- The increasing alumni competency on agro-techno-preneurship, and sustainable programs as a support to the professionals in the agricultural industry. The achievement is pursued by two strategies: (1) Strengthening the quality of courses (updating the Semester Course Outline and Lesson Plan /RPKPS and Reference Support Program); (2) Strengthening the Master Program of Agro-industrial Technology, and the establishment of Agro-industrial Science Doctoral Program in Agricultural Engineering Department, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
- The development of networking courses both at national and international levels. The efforts to achieve this objective are through two strategies: (1) initiation of a national-scale agroindustry professional organization (APTA); (2) initiation of collaboration with universities / institutions abroad.
- The increasing number of qualified researches and publications of academic staffs, both in accredited national and international journals in order to enrich the development of agro-industry sciences, will be pursued through the establishment of research interest group; competitive research grants from university and other institutions; providing assistance/ incentive for publication; encompassing the scope of agro-industry as cases in class; and developing collaborative researches with industries and local government.
