The Training, Community Services and Cooperation Program (PATH-LINK) Department of Agro-industrial Technology UGM will held a Training Series : Optimization in Agroindustry on 14-15 March 2017. The Cargill Global Scholars Program is a distinctive, two-year leadership development program that provides financial support, in addition to leadership development training and one-on-one mentoring. The purpose of the Cargill Global Scholars Program is to build a global network of future leaders who will one day make important contributions to advance business, agriculture and food security. Cargill Global Scholars are students who demonstrate exemplary academic achievements, leadership potential and study in food, agriculture and risk management.

There are several key reasons to be a part of the Cargill Global Scholars Program.
  • Receive scholarship funding for up to two years to help off-set your undergraduate education expenses
  • Participate in Cargill Global Scholars enrichment activities where you will have the opportunity to network with Cargill executives, community and business leaders, and members of the Cargill Global Scholars worldwide network
  • Receive academic and professional guidance and counseling from a Cargill leader through the mentorship program

Applicant eligibility will be determined based on meeting the required criteria.
    1. Citizen or permanent resident of Indonesia
    2. Enrollment in one of the partner universities which include:
      • Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB)
      • Universitas Andalas (UNAND)
      • Universitas Brawijaya (UB)
      • Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)
      • Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS)
      • Universitas Lampung (UNILA)
      • Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS)
    3. Second year undergraduate student in one of the following fields:
      • Accounting, preference in Makassar area
      • Agriculture Related Field
      • Biology
      • Electrical Engineering
      • Industrial Engineering
      • Mechanical Engineering
    4. Demonstrate high academic performance (with GPA of at least 3.0 (0-4 scale) for semester 1–3)
    5. Involved in social and student activities, and showing leadership potential
    6. Demonstrate financial need
    7. Women and difable are strongly encouraged to apply

Recruitment for Agricultural Specialist in US Embassy

URGENTLY NEEDED U.S. Embassy, Jakarta has a vacancy for Agricultural Specialist (FSN-55/2010), FSN-11*(Rp. 261,605,169,-p.a. Full performance starting salary) in the Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS). The core purpose of this position is to develop a level of expertise in designated food and agricultural sectors. The incumbent is expected to possess an in-depth understanding of both Indonesian and U.S. agricultural production and trade policies and write a full range of comprehensive annual and voluntary commodity reports for public distribution with minimal supervision. Qualification required: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to agricultural economics and/or trade economics is required.
  1. Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in agricultural market analysis, policy analysis, and/or economic reporting.
  2. Level IV (fluent) in speaking/reading/writing both in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.
  3. Must have professional understanding of Indonesia agricultural production and trade policy. Solid knowledge of Indonesian agricultural production practices and the factors that affect production, supply and demand. A thorough knowledge of the mechanisms, constraints and practices with respect to market for various agricultural commodities in Indonesia and of opportunities for U.S. products in those markets.
